Celebrating Canberra’s youth sector at the annual YOGIE Awards

Today it was my pleasure to present the Youth Coalition 2016 YOGIE Awards, celebrating and recognising the work of the Youth Sector in the ACT.  

Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding achievements in working with young people in our community.

The Awards, now in their 11th year, are hosted by the Youth Coalition of the ACT.

The YOGIES promote outstanding practice in working with young people in the ACT and this year there were 11 categories of awards.
Group winners include:

Outstanding Achievement in Youth Participation Award: Street University
Innovation in Service Delivery Award: Sotka Yuha Young Warriors Society program
Excellence in Research and Evaluation Award: Young People and Gambling project
Excellence in Organisational Practice Award: Comorbidity project

Individual winners include:

  • Outstanding Youth Worker Award: Summer Will Leiper
  • Outstanding Contribution to Young People Award: Rebecca Jacobs
  • Outstanding New Talent: Andrew Hill
  • Champion Youth Worker Award: Nicky Link
  • Lifetime Achievement Award:  Tracy Brown
  • Staff Acknowledgement Award: Aunty Agnes O’Shea
