If you’re planning on spending your New Year’s Eve in the city, take advantage of the new Night Rider bus service that offers Canberrans more choice about how to move around Canberra as they celebrate.
“With some great events on around Canberra and especially in Civic, people are travelling around Canberra on New Year's Eve. Why not try the Night Rider bus service to make sure you get home safely, comfortably and affordably,” Minister for Transport and City Services Meegan Fitzharris said.
“On New Year’s Eve, Transport Canberra will increase Night Rider services with buses departing every 10 minutes from major bus stations until 2.00am.
“Night Rider will run along the Red and Blue Rapid routes connecting Civic to major city centres including Belconnen, Gungahlin, Woden and Tuggeranong.
“The ACT Government has also partnered with Uber to help passengers with the ‘last mile’. Passengers will be able to benefit from Uber promotional codes to get $10 off their ride home between 11pm and 2.30am on New Year’s Eve. This is a great option to ensure you get home safely,” said Minister Fitzharris.
Uber NSW General Manager Henry Greenacre said, "We know Canberra will be buzzing this New Year's Eve and we're pleased to offer a safe, convenient and reliable ride home for local revellers in partnership with the Night Rider.”
