Eleven projects awarded ACT Environment Grants

Released 19/09/2018

Projects including environmental restoration, goanna monitoring and indigenous cultural heritage will share in $192,460 in funding as part of the 2018-19 ACT Environment Grants Program.

It’s a delight to be able to provide 11 community groups with the support they need to help enhance and promote our beautiful woodlands, grasslands, vegetation, wildlife and indigenous heritage.

We’re fortunate to have so many people in Canberra with such passion and commitment for looking after the local environment.

This year’s grant recipients have a broad range of objectives from landscape restoration, biodiversity and native habitat enhancement, threatened species research and education of our indigenous heritage.

The eleven projects to receive funding proved that they will have a lasting legacy and provide strong value for money.

This is the 21st year of our environmental grants program, and each year we have seen the number of applicants rise as the community become more environmentally minded.
