Intersection closure on Northbourne Avenue for light rail works

Released 06/08/2017

As part of the construction of Light Rail, there will be out-of-hours works occurring over a four week period at the intersection of Ipima and Condamine Streets on Northbourne Avenue.

The closure will commence from 8.00pm on Sunday 6 August for up to four weeks. The works will take place out-of-hours from 8.00pm to 6.00am daily.

The intersection will be closed to cross street traffic and right turning traffic on Ipima and Condamine Streets. Traffic travelling northbound or southbound on Northbourne Avenue will not be affected, and all left-hand turn movements at the intersection will be maintained.

The intersection will be closed in order to install Telstra conduits ahead of the laying of the track slab in the coming months.

Traffic management measures to assist motorists, pedestrians and cyclists will be in place including signage and personnel.

No bus stops or routes will be affected as part of this closure.

Affected residents and local businesses were notified seven days prior to the start of any work in their area.
