City to Canberra Airport, 7 Days a Week with Transport Canberra

Released 11/07/2017

Transport Canberra reminds Canberrans and visitors that they now have access to a convenient and low cost public transport connection between the City and Canberra Airport, seven days a week.

“Transport Canberra buses (Route 11/11A) run every 30 minutes or better on weekdays and every hour on weekends to the Canberra Airport for the cost of standard bus fare,” Director, Public Transport Operations, Ian McGlinn said.

“To travel just use your MyWay card or pay a cash fare to the driver when boarding. A single adult trip when paying cash costs only $4.80 with cheaper fares for students and children on presentation of a valid concession card.

“Seniors and concession card holders using a MyWay card are eligible for free off-peak travel as part of Transport Canberra’s 12 month trial.

“You can connect to the City Bus Station using the Transport Canberra bus network. Planning your journey online is easy using the Journey Planner located on the homepage of our website,” Mr McGlinn said.

Since it started in March this year, the service has proven popular with Canberrans and visitors alike.

Services depart from the bus stop just outside the UBER lounge at the Canberra Airport only a short walk from the Airport baggage area.

This service is another great example of the ACT Government’s commitment to providing accessible and attractive public transport options for the ACT. To plan your journey visit transport.act.gov.au.
