Canberra Gold Award
As part of the Canberra Social Plan the ACT Government has instituted a ‘Canberra Gold’ Chief Minister’s Award to recognise and celebrate the commitment made by long term residents of the ACT.
The award is to recognise the unique contribution made by those people who came to live in the Territory (or were born here) fifty or more years ago.
Each year as part of Canberra’s birthday celebrations a ‘Canberra Gold’ Chief Minister’s Award will be presented to each nominated resident of the ACT who has lived in the ACT for fifty years.
Criteria
ACT residents who have been living in the ACT for fifty years or more, as at 12 March each year, are eligible for the Award. Any individual may nominate a person for the Award. Award recipients will be presented with an Award certificate. A brief family background may be attached.
