The 2016 Skilled Capital midyear release includes an opening of 1140 places across 22 qualifications.
On 1 August 2016, the midyear release of Skilled Capital funded qualifications will be open for enrolment from 9:00am for 1140 places across 22 qualifications.
The list of qualifications for the release can be found on the Skilled Capital Webpage.
The release will not have a guaranteed enrolment period for RTOs. The qualification cap is a live counter and once places have reached capacity in a qualification there will be no further enrolments available.
All qualifications released in 2016 which currently have places remaining will remain open until the end of the year or until all places have been exhausted.
The release includes an increase in the qualification cap for eight qualifications which were part of the original January 2016 release. The number of new places is outlined in the August 2016 Skilled Capital release table found in the link above.

- As a reminder to RTOs, the eligibility criterion for Certificate II qualifications has been changed in 2016 making the Certificate II eligibility less restrictive (please refer to the latest version of the ACT Standards Compliance Guide for Skilled Capital). A student may be eligible for a Certificate II qualification, regardless of previous education and completed training, if they have suffered changed circumstances that impact their ability to undertake training and/or work, such as ill health, and they meet the minimum eligibility requirements. If unclear whether a student would meet this criterion, contact Skills Canberra by email to email@example.com.
- Any ACTFA-holding RTO is eligible to enrol students in Skilled Capital provided it has scope to deliver the qualification in the ACT as per their ASQA registration and has nominated the qualification on AVETARS.
