Release of VET FEE-HELP – Discussion Paper

The Australian Government has released a Redesigning VET-FEE-HELP: Discussion Paper for consultation. Submissions are due by 30 June 2016.

On 29 April 2016, the Australian Government released Redesigning VET FEE-HELP: Discussion Paper, which seeks to promote public discussion and inform the redesign of the VET FEE-HELP scheme. A number of ideas for reform of the scheme are presented in the paper, which includes a series of questions to guide stakeholders in providing comment.

Submissions are due to the Australian Government by 30 June 2016. As outlined in the ‘Next Steps’ section of the discussion paper, following the upcoming election, the Australian Government will undertake an intense period of consultation regarding the options outlined in the paper so formal proposals can be released in time for legislation to be considered in the Spring Session of Parliament.
