Changes to Subsidy Amounts of Certain Certificate II Qualifications in Skilled Capital and ACT Australian Apprenticeships
The subsidy amount for certain Certificate II qualifications for the Skilled Capital and Australian Apprenticeships programs has changed. The new subsidy amount for the affected Certificate II qualifications will take effect for Skilled Capital enrolments and Australian Apprenticeship commencements after 1 July 2017.
The subsidy amount of certain Skilled Capital and ACT Australian Apprenticeship Certificate II qualifications will change for enrolments and commencements occurring after 1 July 2017.
Table 1 highlights the current and new subsidy amounts, new minimum tuition fees and new maximum concession for the Skilled Capital Certificate II qualifications impacted by this change.

As the new minimum tuition fees are either equal to or lower than the old amounts, there is no requirement for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to change their tuition fees. However, RTOs can make these changes through AVETARS if they wish to update their fees.
Skills Canberra has determined that subsidies for qualifications funded under Skilled Capital should not be higher than subsidies under the ACT Australian Apprenticeships Program. Subsequently, there will be changes to the subsidies for the same qualifications in Table 1 (where the new price is higher) under the ACT Australian Apprenticeship Program. These changes are outlined in Table 2.
