Deadline for public submissions to the review of the legislation governing the regulation of the Vocational Education and Training sector.

The Australian Government is undertaking a review of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVETR Act). Submissions from major stakeholders and the public will close on Friday 18 August 2017.

The NVETR Act established the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as Australia’s national vocational education and training (VET) regulator. The Australian Government has commissioned Professor Valerie Braithwaite to undertake a review of the NVETR Act and its associated legislative framework to review the extent to which it supports a responsive, effective and efficient approach to regulation that ensures the quality of the national VET sector.

The review is being conducted over six months and is seeking the views of major stakeholders, inviting submissions from the public, and will draw on available information and data about the VET sector.

Submissions can be made through the online portal at https://www.education.gov.au/nvetr-act-review-submission.

Should your organisation which to forward a submission but feel the online template is restrictive, submissions can be made outside of the template by emailing VETRegulation@education.gov.au.
