Training Options for Individuals

The Australian Government and state/territory governments provide funding for vocational education and training (VET) in Australia. It is underpinned by:

  • high standards of training
  • strategically targeted funding
  • industry developed training packages.

The ACT Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (the Directorate) administers local and national funding for a variety of programs related to the VET, higher education and adult community education sectors.

Funded training initiatives managed by the Directorate include:

Australian Apprenticeships

Australian Apprenticeships include both apprenticeships and traineeships which combine practical work with structured learning and lead to a nationally recognised qualification.

Please visit the ACT Qualifications Register to search a list of registered qualifications and registered training organisations (RTOs) approved to deliver Australian Apprenticeships training in the ACT.

Skilled Capital

The Skilled Capital initiative provides $21 million over three years to improve access to high quality training in areas of skills need and maximise improved employment outcomes for students. The initiative also provides a comprehensive range of support services to ensure students accessing training receive the help they need to successfully complete their chosen qualification. The qualifications offered by each Skilled Capital approved RTO including the RTO's student tuition fees are available on the Skilled Capital website.

ACT Adult Community Education Grants Program
