Development of the Canberra Social Plan 2011
The Canberra Social Plan 2011 Plan was developed with the help and ideas of citizens, community organisations and ACT Government. There was a clear message that we need to build the strengths of our vibrant Canberra community while continuing to support the most vulnerable.
Community engagement included on-line forums, meetings with stakeholder organisations and a number of forums. An ACT Government reference group was also involved in drafting the updated Plan.
Updating the Plan
The discussion paper Building our Community – The next steps was circulated to ACT Government Ministerial Advisory Councils. Council Chairs met with the Community Inclusion Board in May 2009 to discuss the paper and responses were invited from the community.
