A significant proportion of the ACT’s total growth over the coming decade is projected to occur in the new development areas of Gungahlin and Molonglo. It is projected that in a decade, more than 20,000 people will be living in the news suburbs of Molonglo. By 2021, Gungahlin’s total population is projected to be close to 73,000.
Woden Valley and Weston Creek-Stromlo are projected to have the oldest population with around a fifth of the population in these districts aged 65 years and over by 2021.
