As part of the ACT Government’s Open Government commitment, this document is a public summary of matters considered by Cabinet.  It is not intended to be a detailed set of minutes and does not cover all matters considered by Cabinet.  Among matters not covered are materials considered in the formation of the ACT budget, commercial and industrial matters under negotiation, as well as matters that would impact personal privacy, security and the ACT economy.  Nothing in this document can be considered a waiver of the Government’s executive privilege.

Committees of Cabinet

A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened.  Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

ICRC Price Determination

Cabinet considered presentations by both ACTEWAGL and the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (ICRC) in relation to the Draft Report and Proposed Price Direction – Regulated Water and Sewerage Services, released by the ICRC on 26 February 2013.  The Draft Report and Proposed Price Direction are available on the ICRC Website. 

Liveable Cities Grant: City Strategic Plan

Cabinet agreed to a City Strategic Plan community consultation process.  This included a communication and engagement plan which encompassed five associated theme papers covering the role of the City; transport and movement; growth in the City; public realm and design; and implementing change.  The theme papers will be available following launch of the project on 26 March 2013 [img-icn-extlinkwww.timetotalk.act.gov.au/cityplan]

Appointments

Cabinet agreed to endorse the following appointments to the ACT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex (LGBTI) Community Advisory Council: 

Heidi Yates as Chair; and
Peter Hyndal as Deputy Chair 

Cabinet also agreed to endorse the appointment of the following people as members of the LGBTI Community Advisory Council:

Ian Goudie;
Ivan Hinton;
Lyn O’Brien;
Douglas Robinson;
Wade Smith;
Emma Erikson;
Scott Malcolm;
Jennifer Yates;
Veronica Wensing; and
Megan Baker-Goldsmith

Cabinet agreed to endorse proposed appointments to the ACT Heritage Council, subject to Standing Committee consultation.
