Budget Committee of Cabinet

A Budget Committee of Cabinet meeting was convened. Treasury officials joined with Ministers to discuss matters of fiscal significance.

Council of Australian Government Meetings (COAG) – 19 April 2013

Cabinet considered ACT position on a range of issues to be discussed at the Council of Australian Governments Meeting scheduled for 19 April 2013. 

Government Response to the Standing Committee for Public Accounts Report No. 25 of 2012: Review of Auditor-General’s Report No. 1 of 2011: Waiting Lists for Elective Surgery and Medical Treatment

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response, noting the single recommendation made by the Standing Committee on Public Accounts in their report No. 25 of 2012 on the Auditor‑General’s Report No.1 of 2011: Waiting lists for elective surgery and medical treatment. The Government response will be publicly released after being tabled in the Legislative Assembly.

Government Response to the Select Committee Inquiry on ACT Supermarket Competition Policy

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Select Committee into ACT Supermarket Competition Policy. The Government Response will be publicly released after being tabled in the Legislative Assembly.

Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs relating to the Auditor-General’s report No. 3 of 2012: Early Childhood Schooling

Cabinet agreed to the Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs regarding the Auditor-General’s Report No. 3 of 2012: Early Childhood Schooling. The Government Submission will be released following consideration by the Standing Committee.

Appointments

Cabinet agreed to endorse an appointment to the Exhibition Park Corporation Board, subject to Standing Committee consultation.

Cabinet endorsed the reappointment of the ACT Surveyor-General, Mr Bill Hirst, and Dr Jay Arthur as fulltime co-chairs of the ACT Place Names Committee. Cabinet also endorsed the appointment and reappointment of the following full-time members of the ACT Place Names Committee:

Ms Natalie Broughton; Dr Lenore Coltheart;

Dr Dianne Firth; Dr David Headon;

Mr John Kalokerinos; Ms Alex Sloan;

Ms Jill Waterhouse; and Roslyn Brown
