Year 10 Excellence Awards recognise our high achieving students

Released 04/12/2017

Today  the outstanding accomplishments of Canberra public school students in their  final year of high school were celebrated at the Year 10 Excellence Awards.

The Year 10  Excellence Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the High School Years is the  largest celebration of student achievement for Canberra public schools.

It was  great to be a part of this celebration and acknowledge the wonderful  achievements of year 10 public school students. This year, 68 students were  presented with an award for their achievements, supported by their parents,  carers, family members, principals and year coordinators.

The awards  represent a year of dedication to studies, and the culmination of many years of  hard work, dedication, success and community service. The students recognised  today were acknowledged by their school for commitment, academic excellence,  creativity, sporting prowess or a keen desire to contribute to the world.

The  recipients are presented with one of three awards; being a successful learner,  a confident and creative individual or an active and informed citizen. All the  recipients should be very proud of their high school achievements and this  recognition.

Teachers,  parents, carers and friends are also central to student success at school so  congratulations to them as well. I would also like to thank and  acknowledge Paperchain Bookstore Manuka for their continued support of this  event.

Congratulations to each of our award winners. I  wish them all the best and I look forward to hearing about your  future successes.
