Events Terrace at National Arboretum completes first stage of Gallery of Gardens

Released 25/07/2017

The new Events Terrace at the National Arboretum Canberra is now open, providing visitors with yet another space to enjoy at this diverse and unique attraction.

The Events Terrace is the first stage of the Gallery of Gardens, which will offer a new series of seven connected gardens as a key area for functions, events and recreation.

This large functional space is able to host up to four formal or informal events at any given time. With a beautifully landscaped area and outlook, it will be enjoyed by many, both locals and visitors.

156 new trees have been planted and are flourishing along five separate avenues in the new Gallery of Gardens, located conveniently behind the Village Centre.

The Gallery of Gardens is an integral part of the National Arboretum's master plan and vision, adding to the outstanding beauty, community amenity and scientific value of the site.

Five of the seven gardens are due for completion in April 2017 and the final two gardens are at initial concept design phase, due to be constructed by the end of the year.

Whether it’s for coffee with friends, a family day of nature play, a picnic with a view or a serious bike ride, the Arboretum is a place for everyone to enjoy.
