Resurfacing works commence tonight on Morshead Drive

Released 22/02/2016

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users of partial lane closures on Morshead Drive and Pialligo Avenue from tonight, Monday 22 February until Friday 26 February 2016, weather permitting.

These closures are to allow for nightly resurfacing works from 6.30 pm until 5 am associated with the Majura Parkway project.

The resurfacing works will be conducted on Morshead Drive from the Duntroon roundabout to the Pialligo Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue intersection.

The works will be undertaken in stages along Morshead Drive and Pialligo Avenue with one lane remaining open to traffic in both directions for the duration of these works.

The Majura Parkway is an 11.5 kilometre dual carriageway road that will connect the Federal Highway (in the north) to the Monaro Highway (in the south). Jointly funded by the Australian and ACT governments, the Majura Parkway is a $288 million investment in our regional transport network and is the single largest road infrastructure investment ever made in the ACT.

Barriers and signs will be erected to alert and direct traffic during these works.

Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes.

The ACT Government apologies for any inconvenience these works may cause.

For up-to-date information on road closures please call Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
