ACTION is a safe bet for Black Opal Stakes
If you are planning on heading out to Black Opal Stakes this Sunday, ACTION is your safest bet. This weekend, ACTION will be delivering free bus services for all race enthusiasts to and from Thoroughbred Park.
“Catching one of ACTION’s services to the races is a great way for Canberrans to experience the convenience of bus travel,” Director, Public Transport, Ian McGlinn said.
“Now in its 44th year, Canberra’s Black Opal Stakes is one of the more significant and exciting autumn race days on the calendar.
"By choosing to travel with ACTION this weekend, attendees can afford to enjoy the full social experience that the races offer. ACTION makes for the perfect designated driver and allows passengers to avoid the hassles and costs of parking.
“All ACTION services are free on race day to attendees who display their Black Opal Stakes ticket to drivers when getting on the bus.
“Route 956 and 958 will be diverted from their usual routes between City and Gungahlin, down Randwick Road for racegoers to Thoroughbred Park.
“Route 950 will operate along its usual route and passengers can depart on Flemington Road and walk down Randwick Road to Thoroughbred Park.
“For those wanting to get home after all the day’s action, free shuttle services from Thoroughbred Park to the City Bus Station will operate on a loop service between 5pm to 7:30pm. Shuttles will depart from the pickup bay outside the main entrance of the racecourse.”
