Join ACTION at the Canberra Region Transport Show

Released 26/09/2012

Interested in ACTION's new vehicles and equipment? Ever dreamed about taking an ACTION bus for a spin? Then don't miss the annual Canberra Region Transport Show on Sunday 30 September 2012 at the Sutton Road Driver Training Centre.

This year, the event will showcase more than four hectares of truck fleets from Ablett's Transport, Paragalli Haulage and Australia Post; vehicles from the Australian Federal Police, the ACT Fire Brigade and NSW Rural Fire Service; new trucks from Isuzu and Kenworth; classic and vintage cars from the Historical Engine Society; the grand champion of Summernats; and replica motorcycles from the film Easy Rider.

Those with a valid Australian driver's license will have the opportunity to drive an ACTION bus (accompanied by an ACTION bus driver) around the Sutton Road Driver Training Centre's 2.4 kilometre track, built to replicate the region's roads.

Limited bookings for this will be available on the day, so secure your place by arriving early and signing up at the on-track 'bus stop'.

The Canberra Region Transport Show began in 2008 in conjunction with the Canberra City Lions Club, and was established to raise money for local charities, including Snowy Hydro Southcare, the Canberra Blind Society, Canberra Hospital, Youthaven, Barnardos, the Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group, and many more.
