Upgrade to walking trail at Gibraltar Falls recreation area

Released 29/06/2012

An upgrade to the walking trail at Gibraltar Falls will take place from Monday 2 July 2012, Stephen Alegria, Regional Manager, National Parks and Catchments, Parks and Conservation Service, said today.

"Standing over 50 metres tall, Gibraltar Falls is one of the most picturesque locations in the ACT," Mr Alegria said.

"This safety upgrade to the walking track within the Gibraltar Falls recreation area will ensure visitors are able to enjoy the beauty of the falls in a safe way."

Mr Alegria said that to facilitate the work the Gibraltar Falls recreation area, including access to the falls, will be closed from Monday 2 July 2012 to Friday 13 July 2012.

There will be no access to Gibraltar Falls during the period of works from either Gibraltar Falls recreation area or from Woods Reserve downstream.
