Released 25/07/2017

Renewable energy and cleantech organisations in Canberra will receive a boost with the announcement of two new grant programs by Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability Shane Rattenbury.

“I am very pleased to announce two new grant programs today which will support the exciting work that the renewable energy sector is carrying out right across the Territory,” said Mr Rattenbury.

“Funding for the new Direct Grants scheme and the Innovation Connect Grants ‘Renewables Stream’ will come from the $12 million industry-funded Renewable Energy Innovation Fund (REIF) and will help grow the renewable energy industry here in the ACT.

“Following the recent opening of the Renewables Hub, the Direct Grants will encourage further growth in our thriving renewable energy sector by focusing on the demonstration of new technologies and the scaling up of new ventures through large grants of over $30,000.

“The Innovation Connect Grants ‘Renewables Stream’ will commit up to $120,000 over the course of the year. This grant will provide organizations with smaller amounts of up to $30,000, as well as a spot in the newly established Renewables Innovation Hub co-working space.”

Both the expressions of interest for the Direct Grants and the the Innovation Connect Grants ‘Renewables Stream’ are open until the 27 February 2017.
