Supporting community organisations improve their digital capacity

Released 26/06/2018

Congratulations to 31 local community organisations that have been awarded a total of $101,115 in the 2017-18 Participation (Digital Communities) Grant Program.

The ACT Government is proud to assist local community organisations to engage with the Canberra community through digital technology with the Participation (Digital Communities) Grant Program.

This grants program provides up to $5,000 in funding to support initiatives that will benefit the broader ACT community.

Adopting or updating technology can be a costly exercise for many organisations. These grants make a real difference to community organisations that many Canberrans are either involved in or rely on.

Recipients of the 2017-18 Participation (Digital Communities) Grant Program include:

  • $5,000 for Mental Illness Education ACT Incorporated for the DoNOHarm Volunteer project;
  • Over $4,000 for Prisoners Aid ACT Incorporated to update computer and phone hardware to improve communication with clients;
  • Nearly $5,000 for the Molonglo Catchment Group’s web-based biodiversity data management; and
  • Over $2,400 to Woden Seniors to purchase a much needed laptop and data projector.

Congratulations to all the successful recipients I look forward to seeing the outcomes of these initiatives over the coming years.
