Grants open to support ACT Youth Week events and activities

Released 05/09/2018

The 2019 ACT Youth Week grants program is now open, with a total of $20,000 available for events, projects and activities to celebrate 2019 ACT Youth Week.

ACT Youth Week will be held from Friday 12 April to Sunday 21 April 2019 as a week-long celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 years.

The 2019 ACT Youth Week grants program is a fantastic opportunity to run events, activities and projects that celebrate and engage with young people in our community.

Up to $1,500 is available for projects that recognise the contribution of young people and encourage youth participation in the ACT community.

Previous grant recipients for 2018 Youth Week activities included Sauiluma Samoan Cultural Group Canberra Youth Cooking Contest; drama workshops with REBUS Theatre; and Canberra High School Indigenous Art Program.

I look forward to seeing the innovative new projects put forward by young people and the wider community to encourage youth participation during 2019 ACT Youth Week.

Initiatives supported by the grant program will be supplemented by a range of free, accessible and inclusive events across the city to ensure all young people in the ACT have an opportunity to celebrate ACT Youth Week.

Applications close at midday on 5 November 2018. For more information and to apply, visit http://www.communityservices.act.gov.au/grants
