Community Support and Infrastructure Grants to support 48 local organisations

Released 26/06/2018

The ACT Government is supporting 48 local community organisations to be more effective and efficient through the 2017-18 Community Support and Infrastructure Grant Program.

I congratulate all of the successful applicants and look forward to seeing the great outcomes that will come from this year’s grants.

The successful projects include:

  • $5,000 for Canberra Repertory Society’s modernisation of Theatre 3’s theatre lighting infrastructure project;
  • Over $8,700 for Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services’ digital technology upgrade;
  • $7,700 for wireless headset microphones for performers at the Tuggeranong Community Theatre;
  • Nearly $6,000 for Burrunju Aboriginal Corporation’s purchase of equipment for the Art Gallery; and
  • $1,717 for 2XX Community Radio for outside broadcast equipment.

The grants are awarded under the following three categories: community support and capacity; non-fixed infrastructure and equipment; and minor capital works and fixed infrastructure.

The recipients demonstrate the incredible work being done by local community organisations across Canberra. These organisations provide vital services and community connections to thousands of Canberrans.

Programs like the Community Support and Infrastructure Grant Program are part of the ACT Government’s commitment to building a stronger and more inclusive city.
