The green bins are coming to Tuggeranong: have you signed up?

Released 22/12/2017

The delivery of green waste bins for Tuggeranong households will begin in the New Year and it is not too late to join the thousands of residents who have already opted into the service.

“We had more than 6,000 Tuggeranong residents express interest in receiving a green waste bin, and since registrations opened on 27 November, over 5,000 households have already signed up for the service,” said Acting Minister for Transport and City Services Rachel Stephen-Smith.

“Residents who registered between 27 November and 10 December 2017 will receive their bins between 8 and 19 January 2018, ahead of the scheduled first collection on 22 January 2018.

“If you haven’t yet registered for your green waste bin, I encourage you to hop online and register today. If you do, your bin will be delivered in the New Year between 22 January and 2 February. A one-off registration fee of $50 is required with eligible concession card holders exempt from payment,” said Minister Stephen-Smith.

Green waste bin collections for Tuggeranong are due to start on 22 January in Banks, Bonython, Calwell, Chisholm, Conder, Fadden, Gilmore, Gordon, Gowrie, Greenway, Isabella Plains, Macarthur, Monash, Oxley, Richardson, Theodore, Wanniassa and Tharwa.

Green waste bin collections are scheduled to begin in Belconnen in September 2018, ahead of a territory-wide roll out in mid-2019.

The scheme is already up and running in Weston Creek and Kambah. For further information please visit  www.actgreenwaste.jjrichards.com.au.
