Still time to apply for Disability Reference Group

Released 25/07/2017

The ACT Government is calling for new members to join the ACT Disability Reference Group to advise on ways to make Canberra a more inclusive community for people with disabilities.

Expressions of interest close on Friday 3 February 2017.

The Disibility Reference Group will provide a platform for people with disabilities, carers and other stakeholders to advise the ACT Government on what is working and what needs to be improved.

I’d like to thank outgoing members for their hard work, passionately championing service system improvements for people with disabilities during their term. This work will continue over the next few months as they mentor and handover to incoming members.

An important part of the work for the new members will be to advise and inform the ACT Government as we implement the National Disability Strategy 2010-2020.

I encourage people with disabilities, carers and those with experience in the disability service sector to apply.

The Disability Reference Group meets six times a year, for approximatley two hours each time.
