Extension of transitional funding secured for ACT community organisations

Released 25/07/2017

The ACT Government has negotiated a funding extension for a series of community organisations as part of the transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Under the NDIS, funding for disability services has been transitioning from the ACT Government to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The ACT Government negotiated transitional funding for a number of organisations for 2016-17, while they prepared for the NDIA’s Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) grant process.

The Government has now secured an extension to the interim funding until 31 August 2017 to ensure a smoother transition following a delay in the ILC funding rounds.

There are presently two grant rounds open and local organisations have been encouraged to apply.

More than $217,000 in additional transition funding will provide certainty and stability while the ILC grants rounds are finalised.

Applications for both grant rounds close on 8 March 2017.
