Released 25/07/2017

I am pleased to release a communiqué from the Child and Youth Protection Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee’s (CYPQAI) most recent meeting.

The CYPQAI was announced in the 2016-17 Budget as part of the Family Safety package and was established to strengthen the quality of child protection practice in the ACT and support ongoing improvement of the child protection system.

The Committee’s membership includes senior staff from the Community Services Directorate, the Justice and Community Safety Directorate and ACT Health.

The Committee includes external representatives from New South Wales and South Australia to support independent case analysis and oversight.

The Committee met for the third time on 7 April 2017, and the communiqués from this meeting and its December meeting are also attached.

Communiqués will be released following all future meetings.
