New board members to help drive Canberra Hospital Foundation’s success

Released 10/04/2018

Minister for Health and Wellbeing Meegan Fitzharris today welcomed four new members to the Canberra Hospital Foundation Board and congratulated the Foundation on its amazing work helping so many people every year.

“I would like to thank all the Board members for volunteering their services and for their contribution and commitment to growing the Foundation. Their support for Canberrans and those in our region affected by illness or injury really helps them achieve a faster and more comfortable recovery,” Minister Fitzharris said.

“I am constantly impressed by the generosity of the Canberra community and local businesses, who have donated over $8 million dollars to the Foundation since it launched in 2011.

“The Foundation has used these donations to help create places for patients and their loved ones to relax away from hospital beds, as well as supplying them with entertainment and comfort items. Donated funds support a range of things from medical research, patient care items, refurbishments, and the Arts in Health program, to state of the art medical equipment and enhanced facilities.

“It was wonderful to attend today’s board meeting to welcome four new distinguished Canberrans – Bronwyn Fagan, Lynne Pezzullo, Susan Proctor and Peter Munday – to the Canberra Hospital Foundation Board. There’s no doubt their skills and expertise will ensure the Foundation continues delivering its important work.

“New and existing Board members are pivotal in driving the success of the Foundation and are leading by example, encouraging philanthropic endeavours in the ACT business sector. I’m excited to continue working with the Board to deliver a world class health system for our community,” Minister Fitzharris said.

Bronwyn Fagan is the Principal Advisor at Proximity Legal and contributes to our community by sitting on the boards of the Canberra Raiders NRL club, Menslink and Canberra Girls Grammar School. She is also a presenter on ABC Local Grandstand.

Peter Munday is the Dealer Principal at Lennock Volkswagen Philip and is relentless in his philanthropic endeavours, donating very generously to the Foundation over many years through raffle draws and other fundraising activities.

Susan Proctor is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Her service includes non-executive director of the Land Development Agency, a former Territory Owned Corporation, chair of the audit committee, Molonglo Financial Services Limited (Bendigo Bank franchise); and the Property Council (ACT) Division Council.

Lynne Pezzullo is the Managing Partner Canberra Australia of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. She has won Telstra Business Woman of Year ACT and brings experience from her time as a specialist with the World Health Organisation and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Canberra trial site.
