Still time left to have your say on what will make Better Suburbs

Released 19/03/2018

Consultation on delivering Better Suburbs in Canberra commenced in mid-September and already 1,000 Canberrans have provided feedback so far. If you haven’t had your say there is still time.

The online survey will be open until 15 November 2017 and there are also opportunities to provide face‑to-face feedback at upcoming drop-in sessions.

“Canberra was ranked third in the world in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel Cities list for 2018. It’s a great city to visit and a great place to live,” said Minister for Transport and City Services Meegan Fitzharris.

“To continue making Canberra a great city, we have invited residents to have their say on what’s most important for their local communities through the development of the Better Suburbs Statement.”

The Better Suburbs project team will be at Woden Library on Friday 10 November 2017 between 10.45 am and 12.15 pm to discuss improvements locals would like to see in their region.

They will also visit the Taste of Braddon event on Saturday 11 November 2017 and Gungahlin Library on Monday 13 November 2017 between 10.45 am and 11.45 am.

“This engagement is an exciting chance for us to talk to Canberrans about how their suburbs are developing and how our city services might be able to support their visions for the future,” Minister Fitzharris said.

“We want to deliver the right mix of services and infrastructure across the ACT and community feedback is important to ensure we understand the priorities of Canberra’s local communities.

“Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in the Better Suburbs project. Consultation will continue early next year to inform the Statement which will be delivered in May 2018.”
