People interested in the next stage of the Southquay Greenway development will be able to get more information at upcoming drop-in sessions at Tuggeranong Hyperdome, Land Development Agency CEO David Dawes said today.
“The drop-in sessions will allow people to receive information so they can provide feedback through the development application process for the estate development plan in February,” Mr Dawes said.
“Located along the shores of Lake Tuggeranong, Southquay Greenway is Canberra’s newest waterfront precinct.
“Construction of the first stage of Southquay Greenway, on the western side of the lake, is progressing well and when completed will be a major boost to the life and vibrancy of the Tuggeranong Town Centre.
“The next stage, on the eastern side of the lake, will consist of four to five blocks of land and is scheduled for sale in later in the first half of this year.
“Identified as a future part of the development during planning for Southquay Greenway between 2010 and 2012, the eastern part of the development will have up to 288 dwellings.
“Once complete, the precinct on both sides of the lake will have about 1,000 dwellings and more than 3,000 square metres of commercial space in the heart of Tuggeranong.”
The development will include a signalised intersection on Drakeford Drive to provide safe and convenient left and right turns for access in and out of the development, a shared path on the lakefront to complete the path network around Lake Tuggeranong and some landscaped areas around the development to complement the area.
The LDA will hold drop-in sessions between 11am and 1pm on 25 January and 4 February at the Tuggeranong Hyperdome.
The LDA will continue to provide information and project updates to the Tuggeranong Community Council.
