Minister for the Arts and Community Events, Gordon Ramsay is encouraging Canberrans to consider shopping locally this Christmas.
The ACT is home to some of the most talented artists and designers in the country and by buying local, you’re not only helping them to continue their trade, but also boosting the local economy.
“Canberra is a city blessed with an abundance of culture and artistic expression. We are so fortunate to be home to so many amazing artists who are creating inspiring pieces to complement any Canberra home or office space,” Minister Ramsay said.
“By buying local you’re helping to foster local talent, as well as giving someone a wonderful, uniquely Canberra gift.”
You can buy local art from a number of the city’s arts organisations including the Canberra Glassworks and Craft ACT, just to name a few. You can also purchase from the artist directly, at one of Canberra’s bustling markets or online.
