New ACT Supreme Court Judge

Released 25/07/2017

The ACT Attorney-General Gordon Ramsay today announced the appointment of Mr David Mossop as the new Resident Judge of the ACT Supreme Court.

“Mr Mossop’s experience in his current role as Associate Judge, along with his experience in his former roles as an ACT Magistrate and as a barrister at the ACT Bar, means he is well equipped for this new role with expertise in both the civil and criminal jurisdictions,” Mr Ramsay said.

“Mr Mossop has a proven track record as Associate Judge in discharging a significant proportion of the ACT Supreme Court’s civil caseload.

“He will play an important role in strengthening the ACT Court System and I welcome him to the role.”

Mr Mossop will start in his new role on 13 February 2017 and will replace Justice Refshauge who retires next year. Justice Refshauge will spend his time before his retirement in May finalising reserved judgments.
