Open your door for the 2018 Red Shield Appeal

Released 17/05/2018

Minister Mick Gentleman today announced that the ACT Government would support the Salvation Army’s 2018 Red Shield Appeal, the Salvo’s major annual  fundraising drive to help finance their important network of social and community services.

“I am very pleased to announce that this year the ACT Government is contributing $12,000 towards the 2018 Appeal,” Minister Gentleman said.

“The Salvation Army is an organisation that makes a difference in our own community through welfare, rehabilitation, crisis and emergency services, as well as the pastoral support they offer to people in difficult situations.

“The ACT Government is proud to be a continuous supporter of the Red Shield Appeal, but also the great work the Salvation Army does all year round in our community.

“This year’s Red Shield Appeal doorknock weekend will take place on 26 and 27 May and I encourage everyone in our community who is able to support the appeal,” Minister Gentleman said.
