City to get more Christmas cheer with Glebe Park festival

Released 11/11/2017

The ACT Government will host a new Christmas Festival in Glebe Park in 2017, creating a forest of festive fun in the city featuring Christmas light displays, food, activities and entertainment.

From 8 to 24 December, the park will be transformed to give Canberra families a forest of festive fun in the city with over 100 trees lit up for children and adults to enjoy.

On Monday to Wednesday, the park’s lighting display will be opened at night for the community to enjoy. From 5pm on Thursday and Friday, and from noon on the weekends, the park will come alive with music, roving entertainers, tree decorating, food, drinks and Santa photos.

Local event company Damsel and Sprout will deliver a fun and diverse program of activities and entertainment for kids, families and adults right in the heart of our city.

Entry to Christmas in Glebe Park will be free throughout the event. Charity partner, Red Nose, will be collecting donations inside the park, and donations will be encouraged.
