Released 25/07/2017

Symphony in the Park returns to Stage 88 this March, presenting an evening of music and nostalgia as ABBA tribute band, BABBA take to the stage supported by the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Presented by the ACT Government in conjunction with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Symphony in the Park will be hosted on Sunday 12 March across the Canberra Day long weekend.

The concert is part of the ACT’s diverse events calendar. The ACT Government aims to provide something for everyone, and the Symphony in the Park joins the Enlighten Festival, the Balloons Spectacular and our other Canberra Day celebrations on offer in the coming months.

Each year, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra provides audiences with backing music to a popular movie or performance, with this year’s concert conducted and arranged by noted conductor, composer and musical arranger George Ellis. George was the conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games.

Last year the concert saw nearly 12,000 attendees enjoy an evening of music and entertainment.

Free to attend, Symphony in the Park will commence at 7:30pm at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park.
