As a result of the ACT Labor caucus ballot this morning for the vacant Ministry positions, I am pleased to announce that Meegan Fitzharris and Dr Chris Bourke will become the Territory’s next Ministers.
This decision will bring the renewal I was seeking for my team heading into 2016, with the right balance of experience and fresh ideas.
Meegan Fitzharris has spent over a year in the ACT Assembly and has demonstrated her capability and advocacy skills as a vocal member for the Gungahlin region. Meegan will bring enthusiasm to a renewed Ministry.
Dr Chris Bourke has been a member of the ACT Legislative Assembly since 2008 and was a Minister in the previous government. His experience will be vital in the Cabinet and I look forward to his contribution.
I will now spend time discussing portfolio arrangements with my new Ministerial colleagues, and will make an announcement on their portfolios in the coming days.
