Released 11/11/2016

Congratulations to the winners of the 2016 Canberra Region Tourism Awards announced this evening at an awards ceremony at the National Arboretum Canberra.

The Tourist Attractions award went to Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre.

The awards celebrate the diverse Canberra region tourism experiences offered by an industry that contributes around $2 billion to the ACT economy annually and employs more than 16,400 Canberrans.

The awards give tourism industry members an opportunity to promote and reward tourism operators.

Congratulations to this year’s entrants who continue to strive for excellence and innovation. A growing tourism sector is essential to the visitor economy, helping to reach our target to grow overnight tourism expenditure in the ACT to $2.5 billion by 2020.
