Released 27/02/2018
ACT Government sportsgrounds have reopened today following the recent wet weather, with the exception of O’Connor oval number 2 which will remain closed until tomorrow, Wednesday 28 February 2018.
As part of the clean-up, ACT Government personnel are out in suburbs checking for damage to ACT assets, such as playgrounds. Damaged footbridges and walkways are being fenced off and made safe and the community is advised to avoid these areas until they are repaired.
To report damage to an ACT Government asset, the community can lodge a ‘fix my street’ request online or call Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
Motorists and other road users are advised to exercise caution on roads, particularly rural roads, unsealed roads and stream crossings today with wet weather continuing.
The following rural road closures are in place:
- Coppins Crossing
- Bendora Dam Road is closed at Bulls Head
- Googong southern gate at the London Bridge end
- Pabral Road
- Curries Road
The public are asked to check TCCS twitter or the website for more information. Further information on closures on roads and crossings will be issued as it becomes available. Signage will be erected to advise motorists of conditions in certain areas if required.
For your own safety please obey all directions from traffic management staff and signage.
For up-to-date information on road closures please call Access Canberra on 13 22 81 or visit www.tccs.act.gov.au
