The ACT Government would like to advise road users that Alinga Street in the City between Northbourne Avenue and Moore Street will be closed between 8 am and 4 pm on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 January 2018 (weather permitting).
This temporary closure is to allow asphalt improvement works to be undertaken. Pedestrian access to local businesses will not be affected during these works.
Effects on traffic
- Detours will be in place via London Circuit and Rudd Street.
- Transport Canberra bus services will not access Alinga Street (between Marcus Clarke Street and Northbourne Avenue). The nearest bus stops are on Marcus Clarke Street or at the City Interchange.
Motorists should seek an alternate route while works are underway.
Roadside signage will be in place to alert motorists to the work and traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists and pedestrians as necessary.
In the event of delays completing the work, the works will be undertaken on the next available weekend.
