Transport Canberra is looking for new recruits that have excellent driving and customer service skills to join the Flexible Bus Service team.

“Transport Canberra is a great place to work. We value excellent customer service and are looking for full-time, part-time and casual drivers to join the Flexible Bus Service team,” Director, Public Transport Operations, Ian McGlinn said.

The Flexible Transport Office operates the ACT Government’s specialised passenger transport services including special needs school services, the Flexible Bus Service and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Bus.

The Flexible Bus Service provides specialised transport to people who cannot access regular bus services because of their age or disability, and provides door to door school transport to students with either a physical or developmental disability that prevents them accessing regular bus services.

“It’s an exciting time to work in public transport in Canberra with the integration of new buses, active travel and of course the first stage of light rail in 2018. We invite you to apply if you are interested in a career that is rewarding and helps our special needs community, as well as contributes to the public transport experience of the Canberra community.

“We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage both women and men from all cultural backgrounds to apply.

“Before getting on the road, all our new drivers will receive specialised training to gain the skills required for this service,” Mr McGlinn concluded. Applications close on Friday 4 May 2018. More information is available online at  www.transport.act.gov.au
