There will be temporary road closures over the coming weeks as the duplication of Ashley Drive between Erindale Drive and Johnson Drive progresses towards completion.
Upcoming road closures are required for water main works and intersection improvements as part of the duplication works. The Ashley Drive duplication is Tuggeranong’s largest road and transport infrastructure project currently underway and the ACT Government is working to deliver it as quickly as possible.
Location and timing of temporary road closures
- Ashley Drive will be closed in both directions between Bugden Avenue and Clive Steel Avenue from 7 pm Friday 24 November until 7 am Saturday 25 November 2017. Detours will be in place via Clive Steel Avenue from the north and Bugden Avenue, Castleton Crescent and Statton Street from the south.
- Clive Steel Avenue will be closed at Ashley Drive from 7 am Saturday 25 November until 3 pm Saturday 2 December 2017. Detours will be in place via Barraclough Crescent for the duration of the closure. Traffic will be maintained in both directions on Ashley Drive.
Effects on traffic
- Minor delays are expected.
- Barriers as well as warning and diversion signs will be erected to alert people to the closure.

In the coming months Canberrans can look forward to the following project milestones:
- Southbound traffic switch from Erindale Drive to Isabella Drive – December 2017
- Traffic lights operational – planned for February 2018
- Project Completion – planned for March 2018 (weather permitting).
