Two lanes on Vernon Circle to close for major Law Courts works

Two northbound lanes of Vernon Circle in the city will be closed over the next two weekends to allow for major construction works at the ACT Law Courts Project.

The planned lane closures will take place from 10 pm tomorrow, Friday 22 September until 4.30 pm Sunday 24 September 2017 and again from 10 pm Friday 29 September until 4.30 pm Sunday 1 October 2017, weather permitting.

The lane closures are to allow for crews to undertake major works on the ACT Law Courts project, including the installation of the link bridge over the existing Supreme Court building.

One citybound lane will remain open. A temporary cycle lane will be in place throughout the closure.


Effects on traffic

  • Two lanes of Vernon Circle (northbound traffic) will be closed to all traffic.
  • One northbound lane of Vernon Circle will remain open.
  • Southbound lanes of Vernon Circle will be unaffected.

Location of road closures

  • Two lanes of Vernon Circle, city (northbound) at the ACT Law Courts, near City Hill Town Park.

Timing of closures

The closures will be in place from 10 pm Friday 22 September until 4.30 pm Sunday 24 September 2017 and again from 10 pm Friday 29 September until 4.30 pm Sunday 1 October 2017.

Barriers and warning signs will also erected.
