Changed road conditions at Kambah and Bonner for Christmas light displays

Released 04/12/2017

With Christmas only three weeks away, Transport Canberra and City Services would like to remind motorists and other road users to take care around neighbourhoods with large scale Christmas light displays.

Christmas light displays can attract many extra vehicles into suburban areas which can cause potential safety issues.

To improve pedestrian safety and minimise traffic congestion, Roads ACT will implement changed traffic conditions on two suburban streets with large scale displays during the festive season in the suburbs of Kambah and Bonner.

What are the changed traffic conditions?

  • Bissenberger Crescent, Kambah (southbound lane) between Brownsmith Crescent and Mannheim Street will be closed to traffic from 6 pm till 1 am daily until 28 December 2017.
  • Elia Ware Crescent, Bonner will be a one way traffic system in a northerly direction from its southern most intersection withMollie Dyer Street from 6 pm till 1 am daily from 15 December 2017 till 2 January 2018.

Signage and barriers will be in place to alert motorists to the changes.

For up-to-date information on road closures please call Access Canberra on 13 22 81 or visit www.tccs.act.gov.au
