Road closures will temporarily be in place in Acton from Sunday 8 January 2017 to allow asphalt resurfacing works on Parkes Way. The work is expected to last for two nights.
Road closures
Parkes Way westbound will be closed from Commonwealth Avenue to Acton Tunnel. This will mean that access to Parkes Way westbound is restricted as follows:
- there will be no right turn from Coranderrk Street onto Parkes Way westbound
- the entry ramp from Commonwealth Avenue northbound onto Parkes Way westbound will be closed
- the entry ramp from Lawson Crescent and Edinburgh Avenue onto Parkes Way westbound will be closed

Timing of closures
The closures will be in place from the following times, weather permitting:
- 12 midday Sunday 8 January to 6 am Monday 9 January 2017
- 7 pm Monday 9 January to 6 am Tuesday 10 January 2017
- in the event of delays, work will be scheduled for the followings nights between 7 pm and 6 am
Detours
- Via Adelaide Avenue and Cotter Road to Tuggeranong Parkway
- Via Coranderrk Street, Barry Drive and Belconnen Way to Gungahlin Drive
Variable message boards will be in place around the area of works from Tuesday 3 January 2017 to advise motorists.
