Traffic measures from Monday for Floriade preparations

With Floriade only a month away, Canberrans are advised of changes to the traffic conditions around Commonwealth Park.

Effective from Monday 22 August 2016 the following traffic arrangements will be in place:

  • a perimeter fence will be installed around the Floriade site
  • the speed limit along Commonwealth Avenue will be reduced from 70 km/h to 60 km/h to allow for additional pedestrian use by event organisers and visitors.

Commonwealth Park will be closed from Monday 22 August 2016, including sections of the Regatta Point car park bounded by Regatta Place.

Commonwealth Park, including the above mentioned car park, will be reopened to the public at 9 am on Monday 31 October 2016. The speed limit on Commonwealth Avenue will also be returned to 70 km/h.

All parking spaces inside the Floriade fence line will be available for public parking from Monday 31 October 2016.
