Night resurfacing works on College Street, Belconnen

Resurfacing work at College Street in Belconnen is expected to be completed over three nights starting this Sunday 4 December 2016 to extend the life of the road pavement.

The work will involve laying of a new asphalt surface and replacing the line markings. This will require changed traffic arrangements to be put in place. To minimise the delay to motorists these road works will be undertaken at night.

Location of road works

  • College Street intersection with Nettlefold Street, Belconnen
  • College Street between Whelan Street and Cooinda Streets, Bruce

Timing of works

  • Resurfacing works will start at approximately 6.30pm on Sunday 4 December until Tuesday 6th December 2016, weather permitting.
  • Work will be completed by 6 am on each of the three days.
  • In the event of delays, work will be undertaken on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th December 2016 starting at 6.30pm.

Effects on traffic

  • During the works the speed limit around the site will be reduced to 40km per hour.
  • Temporary lanes closures will be put in place.
  • Traffic controllers will be on site to manage the flow of traffic and to assist local motorists to access their homes or businesses.
  • Motorists will experience delays of up to 10 minutes.
  • Motorists are advised to take an alternative route to avoid delays.
