Have your say on the CBRfree WiFi ACTION bus trial

Released 24/10/2016

The ACT Government is inviting Canberrans to provide feedback on their experiences using CBRfree WiFi on ACTION buses in an online survey.

“As part of the ACT Government’s commitment to the delivery of free public WiFi across Canberra, a 12 month trial of CBRfree WiFi on five ACTION buses commenced in December 2015,” Mr Ian McGlinn, Director, Public Transport Operations said.

“The buses are specially fitted to provide customers access to the CBRfree WiFi network while travelling on the trial buses. Trial buses can be identified by a range media including CBRfree WiFi stickers, full bus wrap, marketing and digital displays in the bus.

“Collecting data from users is an important part of the trial so that we can continue to tailor our services to provide passengers with a positive public transport experience.

“Free WiFi on buses is another way in which we are improving the accessibility of our buses and we encourage passengers to provide feedback to enable us to continue to support the services we provide,” Mr McGlinn said.

The success of the trial will be evaluated on usage, customer and driver feedback and value for money. This will help inform whether WiFi will be rolled out to the rest of the ACTION bus network.

The survey will be open until Friday 4 November 2016 and can be accessed via the Transport Canberra website transport.act.gov.au
