Released 25/07/2016

The ACT Government wishes to inform motorists that Corin Road is temporarily closed while work is undertaken to clear snow from the road. It is expected to reopen today once the work is complete.

A number of other changed traffic arrangements remain in place following inclement weather conditions.

The following roads remain open only to four-wheel drives:

  • Mount Franklin Road to the Mount Franklin Chalet
  • Bendora Road
  • Booroomba Rocks Road
  • the dirt section of Brindabella Road
  • the dirt section of Boboyan Road.

The following roads remain closed:

  • Orroral Ridge Road
  • Angle Crossing
  • Sunshine Crossing
  • Murrays Crossing over Paddys River
  • Franklin Road at Bulls Head.

Members of the public are strongly urged not to go to the Brindabella mountains in the pursuit of snow. The road conditions are dangerous and the recent rain, wind and snow may cause trees to fall.

Fire trails in Namadgi National Park also remain closed. Gates are locked at some of these locations and will be opened when conditions improve and become safer.

For more information on road closures visit www.tccs.act.gov.au or Access Canberra on 13 22 81.
